The food you eat may be contributing to your symptoms, but with so many conflicting messages about what you should be eating, it can be difficult to know how to get started.

Nutritional therapy can help you restore your body to its natural state of health.

If your digestive health is well out of whack, but you’ve been told there’s nothing wrong with you

If you’re stressed, tired and addicted to sugar but totally clueless on how to feel better

If you’re fed up with fad diets, and want to make a lasting lifestyle change

If you’re fatigued, struggling to lose weight, constipated, have dry skin and poor concentration, your thyroid might not be functioning properly

If your PMS and period problems are affecting your life…

I work with busy women from all over the world, who have let their careers, parenthood or modern life get in the way of their own well-being. I understand the challenges of eating well when you are stressed and tired – I’m a mother to two young children myself, and have suffered with many of the symptoms that I regularly see in my clinic from digestive troubles to the ongoing management of my autoimmune disease.

However, I also understand that when you are stressed and tired, eating well is the number one thing you can do for your body and your wellbeing.

I offer every client a tailored nutrition plan rather than a ‘one size fits all’ approach. I will always seek to identify the underlying cause of your health concerns using thorough questioning covering all areas of your health.

Typically, my clients come to see me with health concerns in the following areas:

  • Digestive health (bloating, ‘IBS’, food intolerances)
  • Adrenal fatigue (stress/burnout/wired)
  • Thyroid dysfunction (underactive thyroid, Hashimoto’s Disease)
  • Female Hormone imbalance (PMS/Problem periods, Menopause, Pre-conception care)

How does it work?

After completing a detailed Nutrition Assessment Questionnaire all new clients receive the following:

  • Thorough analysis of your health concerns, past and present, medical and family history.
  • Full review of all areas of the body from top to toe to understand whether imbalances in one area could be contributing to symptoms in another
  • Nutritional and dietary analysis to see whether there are any nutritional deficiencies which could be causing imbalances in health.

Following on from this I provide personalised advice on:

  • Which specific therapeutic foods to increase or include
  • Which potentially problematic foods to reduce or exclude
  • Meal suggestions/recipes to make it easy to incorporate the changes
  • Recommendations for further functional laboratory testing where indicated (see FAQs)
  • A tailored supplement plan using only high-quality, practitioner-grade supplements
  • Lifestyle recommendations such as different types of exercise to include, stress-relieving techniques, personal skincare regimes, meal planning etc.

All the recommendations I make encourage the body to heal from within by addressing the underlying cause of the health issue. This can take more time and consideration than treating a symptom with medicine but ultimately looks to restore balance rather than contribute to more toxicity.

All one-to-one packages include a full nutritional and health analysis plus the personalised advice mentioned above which includes:

  • Actionable goals
  • Bespoke nutrition and lifestyle plan
  • Functional testing and supplement recommendations, where indicated.

In addition the packages include:

  • Typed personalised report within 48 hours of each session
  • Email support in between consultations
  • Free membership to The Secret Kitchen Club, my online membership club, for the duration of our 1-1 sessions together. Here you will have access to my delicious, healthy meal plans and recipe bundles, plus motivational support in a private Facebook group.

All consultations take place over Zoom video conferencing, on weekday daytimes only.

I’m not based in the UK. Can we still work together?
Whether you’re in my home town of St Albans, based on the other side of the world, or positioned somewhere in between, we can still work together, thanks to the power of the Internet. I can meet with you online using Zoom or Skype at a time that works for both of us.
I think I have food allergies or intolerances, can you help with that?
Food intolerances can cause digestive symptoms such as bloating, constipation, diarrhoea, abdominal cramping, irregular stool habits. They may also be responsible for non-digestive conditions such as acne, eczema, arthritis, headaches and fatigue. A simple food intolerance test can reveal which foods are causing a reaction so that I can help you implement an effective elimination and reintroduction diet.
Will I need to take any tests?
Depending on your symptoms and health history, sometimes I will recommend functional laboratory tests, for example stool analysis, cortisol and DHEA testing, food allergy and intolerance checks and thyroid functioning. These are usually ordered online (at additional cost) and sent to your home. You simply follow the instructions, post the samples back to the laboratory, and wait for your results – which I will analyse for you.
Can you help with digestive problems/IBS?
Digestive health is at the root of all wellbeing. If you are not digesting your food, absorbing nutrients and eliminating toxins and waste efficiently symptoms can occur throughout the body. To help us tackle your problems, I may recommend a stool analysis, which will assesses the function of digestive tract, gut flora and immune function; and identify bacterial or yeast overgrowths, parasites, and leaky gut.
I think I have a thyroid problem, but my G.P. doesn’t agree. What next?
If you suspect you have a health problem, you should first get it checked out with your G.P. Fatigue, low mood, constipation, hair loss, seasonal sadness, dry skin, cold extremities are all common symptoms of an underactive thyroid. But even if you have already had a thyroid test and have been told it is either normal or you are already taking thyroxine, I recommend  a comprehensive thyroid panel. This will assesses the whole health of the thyroid gland, including autoimmunity, which standard tests available via your doctor, will not do.
What about my unpredictable hormones? How can food help with PMS, infertility and all the other problems caused by out of whack hormones?
Irregular periods, polycystic ovarian syndrome, infertility, PMS may all be a result of an imbalance of female hormones, which can be caused by too much of somethings in your diet, and not enough of others. Tests can ascertain which hormones are out of balance so that I can create a tailor-made treatment plan.
I am taking regular medication - can I still work with you?
If you are taking any medication, your nutrition plan will always take this into account. Never stop taking medication without the guidance of your doctor. And make sure you tell me the full list of what you take.
